about
Such beautiful lyrics. Wishing you the most meaningful holiday you've ever had. Enjoy my cover of "Oh Holy Night," recorded at Mountainside Chapel in Mountainside, NJ in December of 2010.
lyrics
Oh holy night
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks, a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees, oh hear the angels voices
Oh night divine, oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine, oh night, oh night divine
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks, a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees, oh hear, hear the angel voices
Oh night divine, oh night when
Christ was born
Oh night divine, oh night.. oh night, oh night, divine.

This is a cover of "Night Divine" and as Wikipedia says, it was originally "composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 to the French poem "Minuit, chrétiens" (Midnight, Christians) by Placide Cappeau (1808–1877), a wine merchant and poet, who had been asked by a parish priest to write a Christmas poem. Unitarian minister John Sullivan Dwight, editor of Dwight's Journal of Music, created a singing edition based on Cappeau's French text in 1855. In both the French original and in the two familiar English versions of the carol, the text reflects on the birth of Jesus and of mankind's redemption."
